Start your future in the world of geodesy

Do you want to know how plans become reality - and how to measure the world with millimeter precision before it is built? Then training as a Surveying technician (m/f/d) with Hemminger Engineers just right for you.
For almost 60 years, Hemminger has stood for precision, innovation and team spirit: from a surveying office to an international expert in geodata management, industrial measurement technology and network surveying - with over 200 employees at eight locations in Germany as well as subsidiaries in India and Croatia. In this blog post, we would like to give you a brief description of the surveying technician apprenticeship.

What does a surveying technician actually do?

As a surveying technician, you will be wherever the future is being created - on construction sites, in forests, at power plants or when expanding modern railroad lines. You work with state-of-the-art technology such as 3D laser scanners, drones and GNSS devicescollect data in the field and ensure that everything fits together with millimeter precision.
Whether at the Topographythe Building inventory or the Securing evidence: Without you, no one would know where anything is - or should be.

Your training combines Technical, planning and manual work. You travel a lot, work in a team, have responsibility and learn how to turn measurement points into data that engineers, architects and planners need.
"The training is super varied. It combines field work with office work - no two days are the same." (Fritz, 2nd year of apprenticeship)

Surveying technician or geomatics technician - what's the difference?

Both professions are part of the exciting world of geodesy, but differ in their focus. We have summarized the main differences between the two professions for you here. If you would like to find out more, please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you in person.
