New perspectives from the air: Hemminger expands its expertise in the field of drone surveying

On December 3, 2025, a new chapter in state-of-the-art surveying technology began at Hemminger in Dresden. During a certified training course from air clip Four employees from different locations successfully passed their exams – and are now certified for the next five years. Certified drone pilots with A2 license name.

With the additional specialization in STS-01 and STS-02 training They are expanding their expertise to include demanding drone operations in complex operating environments. This means greater safety, greater flexibility, and more opportunities for innovative surveying projects.

More technology. More precision. More future.

However, the day brought another exciting development:
Hemminger was able to test his new drone, the DJI Matrice 400, as well as the powerful sensor Zenmuse H30T receive.

This marks the beginning of a new level of quality in data collection:

  • infrared images for energy analyses and inspections
  • large-area aerial surveys for fast, accurate overview data
  • high-end image capture for detailed 2D and 3D models
  • thermographyZoom optics and multispectral technology in a single sensor system

This technical equipment allows you to survey measurements in future even more efficient, weather-independent, and high-resolution — a significant advance for infrastructure projects, engineering surveys, inventories, and monitoring tasks.

Continuing education as a driver of innovation

For many years, Hemminger has been investing specifically in qualifications that advance the company technologically and strengthen its employees personally. Drone surveying, also known as UAV surveying, has long been more than just a trend—it is a strategic component of modern geodesy.

That is why we are proud to congratulate:

Alexander Schuppan, Lukas Torella, Mathias Haarig, and Oliver Häusler

on successfully passing A2 and STS certification!

In the future, you will play a decisive role in implementing drone projects at the highest technical level and further expanding the capabilities of our teams.

Why drone surveying is becoming increasingly important

Today, drones are among the most advanced tools in geodesy—and ideally complement traditional surveying methods such as GNSS, laser scanning, and tachymetry.
Your advantages:

  • Higher speed for large-scale projects
  • Improved accessibility hard-to-reach areas
  • Greater securitybecause risky situations are avoided
  • Extremely high data quality using state-of-the-art sensor technology
  • Wide range of applications – from construction and infrastructure to energy

The combination of trained specialists and high-end technology makes Hemminger one of the most innovative service providers in the field of UAV mapping.

Looking ahead: New projects, new opportunities

With the DJI Matrice 400 and the Zenmuse H30T, Hemminger is significantly expanding its technical infrastructure—and thus also the variety of projects it can undertake. Whether it's inventory surveys, monitoring, inspection flights, documentation, or high-precision 3D models:
Our teams are ideally positioned to actively shape the future of surveying.

We look forward to new, exciting projects that we can realize with state-of-the-art technology and a highly qualified team.
