Six new recruits, two trades, a shared start to their apprenticeships

The first day on the job is something special. New faces, new tasks, lots of questions—and the start of a career path with plenty to discover.

On September 1, six new apprentices began their training at Hemminger Ingenieure: five at our Esslingen location and one in Lauchhammer. Five of them are starting their apprenticeships in surveying, and one apprentice is beginning her training in geomatics.

We're glad you're here—welcome to the team!

From the First Week to Your Own Project

What begins today with getting to know each other, orientation, and lots of new experiences will soon take on a very concrete form.

In surveying, for example, modern measurement technology is used in the field, on construction sites, and at infrastructure projects. Geodata is collected, analyzed, and made available for further planning.

Geomatics focuses more on the digital world of geodata: processing and visualizing data, using geographic information systems, and developing understandable spatial information and models based on measurement results.

And that's exactly what makes both of these apprenticeship programs so exciting: The work isn't just done at a desk, nor is it just done outdoors. Technology, data, spatial reasoning, and real-world projects all go hand in hand.

For us, learning also means: doing it yourself

Our former apprentices are best suited to describe what that's like in the day-to-day life of an apprenticeship.

Ben, a surveying technician apprentice, sums it up simply: No two days are exactly alike. Different pieces of equipment, coworkers, and projects keep things interesting.

Fritz describes the scope of the training program in a similar way: From traditional construction surveying to network surveying and scanning & mapping, trainees gain experience in various areas of surveying.

It's not about being able to do everything from day one. It's about taking on responsibility step by step, asking questions, trying things out, and doing more and more on your own.

Six new paths begin

Our six new trainees now have three years full of new experiences ahead of them.

You’ll gain experience with a variety of projects, try out new technologies, learn from experienced colleagues, develop your own solutions—and take on more responsibility with each year of your apprenticeship.

We hope you’ll bring curiosity, a love of learning, and, of course, a great start at Hemminger.

It's great to have you here!
