The future students of the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences can look forward to an attractive new location. The university is moving from Flandernstraße to Esslingen's Weststadt. In concrete terms, this means better connections to the Stadtmitte campus, immediate proximity to the Esslingen train station and new shops and apartments right next door.

The new building will be constructed in the immediate vicinity of the railway line, so that the back anchoring of the excavation shoring will extend right under the tracks.
The state of Baden-Württemberg, represented by Landesbetrieb Vermögen und Bau Baden-Württemberg, Amt Ludwigsburg, as the client, has commissioned Hemminger Ingenieurbüro for surveying services including monitoring for the first three railway tracks. The aim is to detect possible changes in the track geometry and the associated risk to rail traffic at an early stage. Measurements will be taken daily during anchor construction and weekly until excavation is complete.
